Prior to opening Zaitzeff Burgers in 2003, Zachary Zaitzeff worked in finance on Wall Street. In the wake of the tragedy on September 11, 2001, Zachary Zaitzeff was directly impacted as someone working on Wall Street. Zachary Zaitzeff chose to make a career move and become a small business owner. Zachary Zaitzeff opened Zaitzeff Burgers in the Financial District of New York City in 2003. Zachary Zaitzeff has also developed himself as a successful artist and mountain climber since leaving finance.
